Syntax Music shutters its doors

US vinyl distributor Syntax Music will be no longer on Friday, January 11. Citing "digital distribution, closing stores, a weak dollar, a poor economy and the rising cost of every aspect of distributing vinyl", the company has decided to close its doors after 10 years in the business.

This follows in the wake of the UK's Amato filing for liquidation late last year, as well as Watts Music shuttering its doors in late 2006.
